Start time: 7:24 PM
Collecting some sales left overnight in GE, I also pull out my new Imphide armor to sell. Out of boredom, I slew an imp one of my first days back and found that it dropped some loot called "imphide" which both implied that I could craft items out of the hide AND gave me a word to add to loophole and shepherd where the ph doesn't sound like gh...err, I mean f.
Anyhow, after some crafty experimentation, I determined that yes, you can make a whole suit of red (burgundy?) armour with yellow trim. Snazzy looking, with a choice of weapons too. So I banked the whole set.
That's right. I squandered a half dozen premium bank slots for armour because it looked neat. Not powerful or rare or valuable, just neat. And I've filled much of my bank with costumes. I loved getting costumes from the different random events, like the frogs or the mime theatre or the demonic drill sergeant. The last time I died, I was wandering Wildy while dressed in full camo. I also lost over 100K runes and a bunch of gold, but it was losing the clothes that hurt me the most, because I enjoyed having non-functional costumes. (Definitely non-functional - how did Wilderness monsters spot me wearing camouflage?) I had not recovered a complete set of camo by the time I lapsed playing years ago.
So I was overjoyed albeit a little disappointed to discover that Thessalia in Varrock sells a full line of event costumes, presumably because the events that gave out clothes might be gone now. I immediately spent the necessary gold to complete every costume from amphibian to zombie.
I also discovered last night that spider silk could be used in crafting another set of amour, this time a purple and silver outfit. But before I tried cramming that into my bank, I revisited the idea of having too many costume pieces in my bank. So I've sold the spider silk and imphide clothing. After all, I can always make more.
Anyhow, I've spent this time mining rune essence in preparation of some runecrafting tomorrow or maybe this weekend. Just jogging from the Varrock East Bank (VEB?) to Aubry's shop and back again. I've discovered that the Towne Crier's bell is a melancholy sound, but probably only to me. I'll explain one day, but not just now.
So as of 8:02 I'm wrapping up. (Early day tomorrow!) No levels gained tonight, but final XP comes to 865,694 with 3,139 gold collected from various activities.
Good hunting!
